Big West Track and Field Championships Begin with Heptathlon

HONOLULU - University of Hawaiʻi women's track and field student-athletes Calli-Ann Abbott and Aubrie Usui will compete in the heptathlon at the Big West Championships at the Pauley Track Facility in Santa Barbara, Calif. The heptathlon is scheduled for May 3-4 with the rest of the events at the Big West Championships slated for May 10-11.

The heptathlon will begin with the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m on Friday, May 3. The following day consists of the long jump, javelin and 800m.

It will mark the third time Abbott has competed in the heptathlon at the Big West Championships. As a freshman, she finished seventh with 4,650 points before putting together a fifth-place finish with 4,833 points as a sophomore in 2018.

For Usui, it will be her first time competing in the heptathlon for the Rainbow Wahine.
