WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team (314-303) remains in fourth place following Friday's second round of the 7
thannual Ānuenue Spring Break Classic at the Waikoloa Resorts Kings' Course.
Oklahoma State continues to hold the team lead at 600 after a second round 299. Utah Valley is second at 612 followed by Arkansas State (613), UH (617) and Georgia Southern (630). Utah Valley's Kaylee Shimizu (72-70), a Wailuku, Maui native, carded a 2-under 70 and holds the individual lead at 2-under 142, four strokes ahead of OSU's Lianna Bailey (74-72), who shot even par on Friday.
UH sophomore
Sahara Washington (78-74) is in fifth place at 7-over 151 following a second round 73, which included one birdie and two bogeys. Sophomore
Tyra Tonkham (77-77), competing as an individual, carded her second consecutive 77 and is tied for 10
that 10-over 154.
Freshman
Nicha Vorrasanpisut (80-75) carded 3-over and is tied for 14
that 11-over 155 while junior
Megan Ratcliffe (77-79) is one stoke back at 156 after a second round 79, which is good for 16
thplace.
Sophomore
Malia Ebersberger (81-76) shot 4-over and is tied for 17
thplace at 157 while senior
Kaci Masuda, the tournament's defending champion, signed her second straight 79 and is in 21
st place at 158.
In addition to Tonkham, two other Rainbow Wahine are competing as individuals – sophomore
Rachel Fujitani (83-76) is tied for 22
ndat 159 and freshman
Haruka Shintani (89-74) improved 15 strokes from Round 1 with a 2-over 74 for a 163 total and 38
thplace.
The third and final round is scheduled for Saturday with a 7:30 a.m., shotgun start.
