HONOLULU - The fifth-ranked University of Hawai'i women's water polo team looks to remain perfect in Big West play this season with a matchup against No. 20 CSUN on Saturday, March 23 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. The first sprint is slated at 6:00 p.m.
The Rainbow Wahine (12-4) dropped their last outing to top-ranked USC, 12-8 on Saturday, March 16. Hawai'i is now 11-4 against ranked teams on the season.
Senior attacker
Irene Gonzalez paced Hawai'i with three goals, while junior
Elyse Lemay-Lavoie added a pair to keep UH within reach. In goal,
Molly DiLalla racked up eight saves in second half action.
On the season, Gonzalez ranks second in the conference in points with 66, registering 44 goals and 22 assist. CSUN's Tori Wilson leads the conference with 77 points, totaling 53 goals and 24 assist.
In last year's matchup between the two squads, the Rainbow Wahine rolled to a 12-6 victory over the Matadors, earning the program's first outright and undefeated regular-season Big West title.
Hawai'i is 15-4 all-time versus CSUN, with the 'Bows winning the last four.
