HONOLULU – After 11-consecutive games away from home, the fifth-ranked University of Hawai'i women's water polo team returns to the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Center for a showdown with top-ranked USC on Saturday, March 16 at 6:00 p.m.
Hawai'i (12-3) went 1-1 over the weekend, beating No. 11 UC Davis 13-9 on Saturday before falling to #4 Cal by a 10-9 final score on Sunday. The Rainbow Wahine are now 11-3 versus ranked opponents this season.
Elyse Lemay-Lavoie led the 'Bows with nine goals over the last two games to up her season total to 33 goals. Senior
Irene Gonzalez leads UH on the year with 41 goals and 22 assists.
In last year's matchups between the two sides, USC earned two wins with final scores of 12-7 and 9-5.
USC went 23-1 a year ago and won its sixth national championship. UH is 3-43 in the all-time series versus the Trojans with the Rainbow Wahine's last win versus USC coming on April 29, 2006. USC has won 22-consecutive games in the series.
Following the game versus USC, UH will host CSUN on Saturday, March 23.
