Game Notes:
  • Friday's match marks the first-ever meeting with Queens (2-7), an independent which began its first season of NCAA competition in 2018. Queens' two wins this season were against Lees-McRae and Coker.
  • UH and Saint Francis (5-3) will also meet for the first time. The Red Flash compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and are coming off a five-set upset win over then-No. 14 Ohio State in Columbus last week.
  • UH has won five consecutive straight-set matches to open the season, a first in program history. This season marks the third consecutive year UH has opened with five straight wins.
  • This season also marks the third straight year UH will have played non-conference matches east of the Rockies.
  • UH has won its last seven regular season matches against teams from the EIVA. Its last loss was to Penn State in the 2013 Outrigger Resorts Invitational. (UH also lost to the Nittany Lions in the 2015 NCAA Play-In match.)
  • Three wins this week would give UH its best start under head coach Charlie Wade and most wins to start the season since the 1996 squad won 13 straight.
