GAME NOTES:
  • Hawai'i enters this week atop the Big West standings with a 7-2 record. By percentage points, UC Davis is right behind UH with a 6-2 record, while preseason BWC #1 Cal State Fullerton is in third with a 7-3 record.
  • Currently, the Rainbow Wahine lead the Big West in eight offensive categories—including batting average (.325), runs (71), hits (76), RBI (62), and home runs (15)
  • Seven Rainbow Wahine are currently hitting .400 or above, with eight 'Bows hitting over .300.
  • In a slugfest, UH defeated Fordham in its opening game of the Boyd Gaming Rebel Classic last week. In the game, UH launched a new-school and Big West record eight home runs in the game with two coming off the bat of Callee Heen. UH broke their former record of seven home runs set in 2013 against San Jose State at the same UNLV tourney.
  • Senior third baseman and No. 2 hitter Nicole Lopez leads the Big West with 13 runs scored and is No. 3 with 13 total hits. The Mic-Pacific Institute alum is hitting .406 with a team-high four doubles a home run and four RBI.
  • Junior catcher/first baseman Callee Heen is ranked in the Top Five in nine offensive categories in the Big West. She leads the league with five home runs and 27 total bases. She is ranked No. 2 with a 1.125 slugging percentage, No. 2 with a .594 on-base percentage, and No. 2 with seven walks. Overall she is hittin g.458 which ranks her at No. 5 in the league. Heen is ranked No. 7 in the NCAA in home runs and No. 11 averageing 0.56 home runs per game.
  • In the pitching circle, Emily Klee has earned two tough wins coming in relief. She leads UH with a 2.76 ERA and is 2-0 in four appearances—all in relief. Last week she came in to hold off the Fordham Rams en route to a 16-12 win. She has allowed six runs in 12.2 innins pitched while holding opponents to a .288 batting average.
  • Izzy Dino picked up her second complete-game win with a five inning 12-2 mercy rule win over UTEP. She split her games and is now 2-1 overall with a 3.79 ERA in 20.1 innings pitched.
  • Head coach Bob Coolen enters his 28th season at the helm of the Rainbow Wahine program with a 980-600-1 record at UH and a 1,052-693 overall record in 32 seasons.
  • UH is celebrating its 35th Anniversary Season this year
