HONOLULU – After more than two weeks without a game, the fifth-ranked University of Hawaiʻi women's water polo team will compete five times in a five day stretch in California.
 
The action will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 20 with a showdown at Azusa Pacific, which received votes in the latest CWPA national poll. The Rainbow Wahine (7-1) will then head to Irvine, Calif. to play four games as part of the Barbara Kalbus Invitational. UH will battle 12th-ranked San Jose State on Feb. 22 with the remaining opponents to be determined based on results.
 
Last time UH competed was Feb. 1-3 when the 'Bows went 3-1 on a Southern California road swing. After a 12-8 loss at third-ranked UCLA, the Rainbow Wahine completed the trip with wins over No. 15 Loyola Marymount, No. 14 Fresno State and No. 21 UC San Diego.
 
Hawaiʻi is led in scoring by senior Irene Gonzalez and her 26 goals. UH, which has outscored its opponents 122-65 on the season, has also received 18 goals from freshman Maxine Schaap and 13 from junior Elyse Lemay-Lavoie.
 
After the week's action, UH will play road games at UC Davis on March 9 and at Cal on March 10.
