SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball opened its fall exhibition tour with a victory over UC Santa Barbara, Wednesday at Rob Gym.
The teams agreed to play five sets regardless of the outcome and the Rainbow Warriors won four of the five sets, 25-22, 23-25, 27-25, 25-22, 15-13.
Rado Parapunov led UH with 16 kills in four sets played, hitting at a .357 clip. The senior added six blocks and one ace.
Colton Cowell also played in four sets and tallied 12 kills with two aces.
Middle blocker
Patrick Gasman posted six kills, hitting .500 with five blocks and a team-high three aces. Newcomer Guilherme Voss had a team-high seven blocks (1 solo, 6 assisted) and four kills in his UH debut.
The Warriors resume their road trip with a match against UC Irvine, Thursday at 7:00 p.m. PT at the Bren Center.
