SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team braved the cold and blistery conditions on the first day of the Bruin Wave Invitational Monday at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
With temperatures dipping into the 40s with light rain, the Rainbow Wahine posted scores of 314 and 319 for a 633 total and currently sits in 11
th place, three strokes ahead of 43
rd-ranked California. No. 10 USC leads the field at 598 followed by top-ranked UCLA (603) and San Diego State (610).
Paired with conference rival CSUN and San Francisco, UH shot a respectable 314 in Round 1. However, the Rainbow Wahine dropped five strokes in round two for a 319 total but are still two strokes out of ninth place currently held by Cal Poly and San Jose State (631).

Tyra Tonkham are tied for 30
th at 13-over 157. Ratcliffe carded scores of 77 and 80 while Tonkham posted 79 and 78. Freshman
Sahara Washington rebounded from a first round 83 with a second round 78 and is tied for 52
nd at 17-over 161 along with junior
Kaci Masuda, who shot 77 and 84.

Emma Lower is tied for 65
th at 164 (81-83).
UCLA's Lilia Vu is a top the individual leaderboard at 4-under 140. Her first round 69 was the low round of the day. Stanford's Albane Valenzuela is five strokes back at 1-over 145.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round.
