The fourth-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will headline The Off the Block Grow the Game Challenge, a 10-team tournament held at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena, Friday, Jan. 12 through Sunday, Jan. 14 in Nashville, Tenn.
The tournament features teams from all five Division I-II men's volleyball conferences. UH (3-0) is the lone Big West Conference representative and will meet Lincoln Memorial (independent), Friday at 8:00 p.m. CT (4:00 p.m. HT). On Saturday, the Rainbow Warriors will face Barton College (Conference Carolinas), a 2017 NCAA Tournament participant at 8:00 p.m. CT (4:00 p.m. HT) and will conclude the tourney against No. 15 Grand Canyon (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CT (9:00 a.m. HT).
UH won all three matches last week to capture the Texaco Classic, including a straight-set win over 12th-ranked USC in the finals for its fourth straight 3-0 to start.
Hawai'i's matches against Lincoln Memorial and Barton mark the first-ever meetings while UH is 6-0 all-time versus GCU.
The other participating teams include Erskine, Lindenwood, Charleston, Limestone, North Greenville, and McKendree.
