HONOLULU – The No. 8 University of Hawai'i women's water polo team (14-10, 4-1 BWC) looks to capture their third Big West Conference (BWC) title this weekend at the 2017 Big West Tournament. The tournament, hosted by No. 13 UC Davis, will run from April 28-30 at the Schaal Aquatics Center in Davis, Calif.
The second-seeded Rainbow Wahine will begin tournament play on Saturday, April 29 at 12 p.m. HT, and will face the winner of the UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach match in the quarterfinal round on April 28. UH will have a BYE in the opening round of play. This will be UH's fourth appearance in the Big West Tournament since joining the conference in 2013. UH is 10-2 (.833) all-time in the tournament and has advanced to the title game in each of the last two seasons. The Rainbow Wahine won the tournament in 2013 and 2015, defeating UC Irvine in overtime for the championship in both instances.

The Rainbow Wahine ended the regular season on a three-game win streak, defeating San Diego State, UC Davis and CSU Northridge (CSUN). UH has been out of action since Senior Day on April 15.
Currently, Rainbow Wahine redshirt junior
Chloe Barr leads the team in scoring with 41 goals, followed by sophomore
Irene Gonzalez with 36 and senior
