Women's Hoops Takes On CSUN In Big West Quarterfinals On Wednesday

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team will look to avenge a pair of regular-season losses at the hands of CSUN when the Rainbow Wahine and Matadors do battle in the Big West Conference quarterfinals on Wednesday. Tip-off in the Walter Pyramid at Long Beach State University is set for 4:00 p.m. (HT).

(6) Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine
The Rainbow Wahine are 12-17 overall entering Wednesday's Big West Tournament quarterfinal against CSUN. Hawai'i extended its season-best winning streak to four games with a 71-50 win over Cal Poly on Tuesday in the opening round of the Big West Tournament. Olivia Crawford exploded for a career-high 21 points and matched her career-best with eight rebounds while adding four assists in the game. Briana Harris added 18 points in the win for the Rainbow Wahine. First-team all-Big West selection Sarah Toeaina is Hawai'i's leading scorer on the season, averaging 13.6 points per game, followed by 10.0 from Harris. The 'Bows are holding opponents to just 27.8 percent shooting from 3-point range this season.
 
(3) CSUN Matadors
CSUN is 17-13 overall entering the Big West Tournament. The Matadors earned an opening-round bye with a 10-6 Big West record, finishing with the No. 3 seed. CSUN is led by Big West Conference Player of the Year Channon Fluker, who is averaging 17.4 points and 12.0 rebounds with a 53.2 field goal percentage this season. Serafina Maulupe adds 13.8 points per game and has hit 79 3-pointers this season for the Matadors.
 
THE SERIES
UH owns an 8-6 advantage in the all-time series against CSUN, but the Matadors have won three straight games over the Rainbow Wahine, including a regular-season sweep this year. UH is 1-1 all-time against CSUN on a neutral court.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Big West Tournament shifts to Anaheim, Calif., for the semifinals (March 10) and championship game (March 11) following Wednesday's action. Regular-season champion UC Davis and second-seed Long Beach State have already earned byes into the semifinals.
