KAPALUA, Maui – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team moved up one spot to eighth after Tuesday's second round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at Kapalua Resort's Bay Course.
The Rainbow Wahine carded a 305 and and are 612 for the tournament heading into Wednesday's final round. No. 7 UCLA continues to hold the lead at 4-under 572 after a second round 281. No. 4 Arizona State moved up to second at 580 followed by No. 42 San Jose State (585), No. 33 Colorado (590), and No. 1 Stanford (591).
Individually, UCLA's Lilia Vu is running away from the rest of the field at 11-under 133 after a second round 66. San Jose State's My Leander and ASU's Linnea Strom and Olivia Mehaffey are in a three-way tie for second at 2-under 142.
UH senior
Raquel Ek shot the team's low round of the day at 3-over 75 and is 8-over 152 for the tournament and tied for 28
th along with senior
Izzy Leung, who carded 77. Sophomore
Kaci Masuda, the team's Round 1 leader, struggled with a second round 80 and is tied for 32
nd at 153.
Senior
Daezsa Tomas and freshman
Megan Ratcliffe each improved six strokes from their first round score with 76 and 77, respectively. Tomas is tied for 55
th at 158 while Ratcliffe is tied for 62
nd at 160.
Also competing for UH as individuals are senior
Kelli-Anne Katsuda (80-81=161/t-67
th) and junior
Lauren Kirkwood (82-84=166/t-81
st).
The tournament concludes on Wednesday with a 7:45 a.m., shotgun start.
