HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (3-0) returns to the court with a big non-conference matchup versus Nevada (5-0) on Friday, Nov. 24. The game will tip at approximately 8:00 pm. as part of a double-header with the Rainbow Wahine. Friday night's game is also a "Greenout" with all fans encouraged to wear green.
The Rainbow Warriors will be playing for the first time in 11 days. Their last game came on Nov.13, an overtime win over Troy in the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic. UH, off to a 3-0 start for the second time under head coach
Eran Ganot, will now play its third 2017 NCAA Tournament team in its first four games when it faces Nevada.
The Wolf Pack and UH met 25 times as Western Athletic foes between 2001-12. This will be the second non-conference meeting since parting conference ways. UH defeated the Wolf Pack on a Roderick Bobbitt bucket during the waning seconds of the 2015 Rainbow Classic title game.
UH is led by the frontcourt of
Gibson Johnson (12.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg),
Jack Purchase (11.7 ppg, 5.3 apg), and
Mike Thomas (18.7 ppg, 7.0 rpg) who lead the team in nearly every statistical category.
