KIHEI, Maui – The Hawai'i men's and women's swimming teams each earned wins over Simon Fraser University in Kihei, Maui, on Sunday.

The Rainbow Wahine picked up a 121-78 win while the Rainbow Warriors won 115-81.

Bryndis Hansen helped the UH women by winning the 50 free (24.29) and 100 free (53.31), while
Franziska Weidner won the 400 IM (4:28.81),
Silvija Djelic won the 1000 free (10:43.36),
Cherelle Oestringer won the 500 free (5:03.80) and
Tahna Lindquist won the 200 backstroke (2:02.26).

The Hawai'i women also won the 400 medley relay, as Lindquist,
Jane Ip, Hansen and Weidner finished in 3:50.66 and the 400 freestyle relay behind
Brooke Kniffin, Alex Swanson,
Madi Uekawa and Oestringer's time of 3:34.52.

Metin Aydin and
Jonas Gutzat each took first place in two events for the Hawai'i men, as Aydin won the 200 breaststroke in 2:03.13 and the 400 IM in 3:59.31, while Gutzat took first in the 500 free (4:38.41) and 1000 free (9:29.11). Also earning first-place finishes for the Hawai'i men were David Springhetti, who won the men's 50 free in 21.25, and
Kane Follows in the 200 back (1:51.65).

The UH men also won both relay races, as
Micah Ornelas, Springhetti,
Mateusz Chaba and
Reed Wynn finished the 400 medley relay in 3:22.90 and Chaba, Gutzat,
Evan Rabanal and Wynn won the 400 free relay in 3:04.72.
