HONOLULU – Forty University of Hawai'i student-athletes and one coach walked among the hundreds of graduates at the Winter Commencement Exercises, held Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center. The list includes current and former student-athletes from 13 different sports programs.
The largest segment represented in the program was the football team, which had 13 student-athlete graduates earning their degrees. Baseball was represented by six (6) graduates, as well as former student-athlete and current strength coach
Josh Elms, who received his post-graduate degree. Four (4) members of the track and field squad were among the graduates. Men's swimming and diving and cheer were represented by three (3) graduates apiece, while women's tennis and men's golf each sent two (2) for their graduate walk. Men's basketball, men's volleyball, sailing, softball, women's volleyball and water polo each had one (1) graduate walking.
Each of the graduates received an H-logo courtesy of the UH Letterwinners Club and were honored in a pre-graduation reception breakfast along with their families.
