PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team moved up two spots after Round 2 of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational Monday at the Makai Club in Princeville, Kaua'i.
The Rainbow Warriors improved 12 strokes with a second round 295 to move up to 17
th place at 602 entering Tuesday's third and final round. No. 25 Mississippi continues to lead the field at 553 with a second round 276. The Rebels hold a commanding 13-stroke lead over No 24 Missouri and Sam Houston State. Among the other Big West teams competing in the field, Cal Poly is tied for sixth at 575 while UC Irvine is tied for 18
th at 603.
Individually, Missouri's Hayden Buckley shot a second round 4-under 68 and leads the tourney at 10-under 134, one stroke ahead of East Tennesse State's Mateusz Gradecki (135). Sam Houston State's Andrew Ertel fired an 8-under 64 and is tied for fourth at 7-under 137.
For the host Rainbow Warriors, senior
Skye Inakoshi posted a 3-under 69 and vaulted 37 spots up the leaderboard to 2-over 146 and is tied for 37
th place. The Honolulu native posted one eagle and five birdies in his round.
Sophomore
Sam Schwartz and senior
Pono Tokioka and each carded 74. Schwartz began his round 3-under after his first five holes while Tokioka salvaged his round with back-to-back birdies on his final two holes. Also competing for the team score were sophomore
Cameron Kaneko (78) and freshman
Desmond Mello (80).
Competing as an individual is freshman
Trevor Hirata, who fired 77 and is tied for 60
th along with junior
Smart Kittirattanapaiboon (76) at 150. Other UH golfers competing as individuals are freshmen

The tournament concludes on Tuesday. The Warriors will then take off the next two days before hosting the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational, Friday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course in Maui.
