PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed the first round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational, Sunday, at the Makai Club on Kaua'i's North Shore.
Ten of the 11 Rainbow Warriors competed in the tournament with sophomore
Cameron Kaneko pacing the team with a 2-over 74. The Huntington Beach, Calif., native posted three birdies on his final five holes to close out his round.
Freshman
Trevor Hirata, competing as an individual, carded a 1-over 73 for UH's best round of the day, spurred by a front-nine 2-under par. Also competing as an individual is junior
Smart Kittirattanapaiboon, who also shot 74 and is tied for 44
th.
Mississippi leads the team standings at 11-under 277 while East Tennessee State's Mateusz Gradecki recorded the day's low round at 7-under 65. Missouri's Hayden Buckley and Utah Valley's Blair Bursey are one stroke back at 66.
