In doubles play, No. 1 Carter Lam and Marcel Chan came close to defeating the nationally ranked Shocker duo, No. 25 Tin Ostojic and Tomislav Gregurovic, but eventually fell 6-4. The second pairing of Illijia Cuic and Guillermo de Vilchez topped Chas Okamoto and Felix Albert 6-3 to give the Shockers a 1-0 lead.

Wichita State would continue riding their momentum into singles play as they gained victories as UH's No. 4 Chan fell to Sergio de Vilchez  6-1, 6-2. No. 5 Joakim Pinola put up a great effort, but he too fell short against Shocker's Guillermo de Vilchez, 6-2, 6-2. It was up to the 'Bows Fabian Woehrl to keep UH's match hopes alive against Miroslav Herzan, but Woehrl would eventually fall in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

The Warriors will stay in Las Vegas, Nev. and face off against UNLV on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. PT.
