NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — University of Hawai'i freshman David Knesl closed out play at the UTR Pro Tennis Tour Newport Beach Men's 25K on Sunday, earning a sixth-place finish at The Tennis and Pickleball Club at Newport Beach.

In the fifth-place playoff match, Knesl fell to Corey Craig in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. The Czechia native wrapped up a competitive tournament run in Southern California, highlighting a solid week of action against professional and collegiate competition on the tour.

After a busy week with the Rainbow Warriors split up between two mainland tournaments, the 'Bows reunite to host the Hawai'i Fall Invitational from Nov. 6-8 at the UH Tennis Complex.
