'Bows Open Road Swing At Cal State Northridge

The 'Bows will be looking to end a six-game skid this week.
Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team will begin its longest road trip of the season this week, set to play seven games in 11 days beginning with a three-game series versus Cal State Northridge at Matador Field. The 'Bows and Matadors will play Thursday, Apr. 17 (3:00 p.m. PT, 12:00 p.m. HT), Friday, Apr. 18 (3:00 p.m. PT, 12:00 p.m. HT), and Saturday, Apr. 19 (1:00 p.m. PT, 10:00 a.m. HT).

The Rainbow Warriors are on a six-game slide and looking to get back in the Big West Conference picture. They are coming off back-to-back series sweeps at home to UC Irvine and current-No. 3 Cal Poly that dropped them to 2-7 in conference and 14-19 overall.

Cal State Northridge enters the series with an identical league record and 13-22 overall mark after dropping six of its last seven games.

Matt Miller and Steven Pollakov both saw their first major action of the season this past weekend and made cases to be regulars in the lineup. Miller batted .429 (3-7) for the series including two hits and a walk in the finale. Pollakov, in two starts behind the plate, hit .375 (3-8) with a two-hit, one-RBI performance on Sunday.

Adam Hurley has come on to become the team's leading hitter, batting .307 with 11 runs, six RBI, two doubles, and a homerun. Matt Cooper continues to have quality starts on the mound for the 'Bows. He ranks third in the Big West in strikeouts (56) and innings pitched (63.1), and fourth in ERA (1.71).
