CLAREMONT, Calif. – The No. 13 University of Hawaii women's water polo team completed a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Claremont Convergence with a pair of wins Saturday at Halderman Pool. UH defeated Occidental, 18-5, before taking down No. 11 UC San Diego.
UH improved to 11-4 on the season and now has won five straight games.
In the morning match it was all Rainbow Wahine as the 'Bows went up 7-1 in the first quarter against Occidental and never looked back.
Chloe Barr netted four goals, while
Mady West also recorded a hat trick with three scores.
The afternoon session saw UH defeat UC San Diego and avenge a sudden-death overtime loss to the Tritons two weeks ago in the UCI Invitational. As in the morning match, UH got off to a fast start and wouldn't relinquish its lead. Barr scored a pair of goals, as did
Danielle Lewis to lead the Rainbow Wahine.
UH will wrap up its road trip with a non-conference match versus Loyola Marymount on Sunday, March 9 at 12:00 p.m. PT.
