EUGENE, Ore.—The Rainbow Warrior Tennis (3-9) team fell to No. 27 Oregon (14-1) 6-1, at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Oregon.
The Ducks took the early lead as they earned the doubles point to begin the match. Oregon's No. 3 duo of Daniel Sardu and Jayson Amos defeated UH's
Chas Okamoto and
Chris Meyer, 8-2. The 'Bows'
Jonathan Brooklyn and
Carter Lam played tough, but came up short against Daan Maasland and Joey Swaysland, 8-5, thus giving Oregon the doubles point. The match on the No. 1 court did not finish due to the Ducks winning the other two matches.
Oregon would continue to win in singles. OU's Sardu won his match against
Danilo Casanova, 6-3, 6-2. UH's
Pavel Liska lost his match to Amos, 6-1, 6-2 and Maasland would put the match away for the Ducks with a victory over Okamoto, 6-3, 6-4. Brooklyn gave the 'Bows their lone point with a win against the Cambier on the one court, 7-5, 6-7, 10-4.
The 'Bows will play their next match tomorrow against Portland in Portland, Ore. The match will start at 1:00 p.m. PT (10:00 a.m. HT) and will be at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center.
