Biography

2013-14 (Senior): Named Big West Player of the Year...finished with a 9-8 singles record and was a perfect 4-0 in conference playing exclusively at the No. 1 position...named second-team all-Big West doubles with partner Carter Lam...went the distance at No. 27 Oregon (3/26/14) with a three-set singles win...rallied to beat Sam Verbeek of Pacific (2/1/14)...with partner Danilo Casanova, won his No. 1 doubles match vs. No. 39 Michigan.

2012-13 (Junior): Played in 18 dual matches this season going 8-10 overall…went 5-1 in singles in Big West Conference play…mainly paired with Dmytro Kovalyov on the No. 1 Court (5-7 overall)…ended the regular season on a four match winning streak matching his season high…played three nationally ranked players this season (No. 19, 20, 23).

2011-12 (Sophomore): Finished the regular-season with an overall record of 7-10 and a doubles match record of 8-10…had a 4-1 overall record against WAC opponents…went 2-2 against ranked opponents, beating then-No. 68 Japie De Klerk (Tulsa) and then-No. 22 Remi Boutillier (Fresno State)…received a WAC Athlete of the Week award...named First Team All-WAC singles and was selected to the singles WAC All-Tournament Team…completed the season with a 7-3 record in the last 10 singles matches and 8-2 in the last 10 doubles matches being paired with Dmytro Kovalyov…reached the No. 99 ranking for singles and ended the season as No. 123.

2010-11 (Freshman): Finished the regular-season with an overall record of 13-11 and dual match record of 10-7…had a 5-1 overall record against WAC opponents…helped UH defeat then-No. 40 Cal Poly by taking down Brian McPhee in two straight sets…finished the regular-season with a 9-4 record in doubles action, with partner Dennis Lajola, winning seven of their last ten matches…named to the all-WAC first team in doubles.

Prep: A 2010 graduate of Langley Grammar School in Langley, England…the 57th ranked player in England and has also earned rankings from the ATP (1,475) and ITF (1,468)…advanced to the round of 16 in the Great Britain Men’s Futures 14, earning him an ATP points…a quarterfinalist at the 2009 Aegon Scottish Jr. International, an ITF event.

Personal: Born in Hillingdon, England…major in business…older brother, Matt, played collegiate tennis at Arizona State and UCLA and helped the Bruins to a pair of deep NCAA Tournament runs as one of the top players in the Pac-10 Conference …parents are Roy and Dee Brooklyn of Hillingdon, England.
