HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior tennis team played its first of back-to-back matches, falling 6-1 to No. 21 Oklahoma State on Tuesday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.
The Cowboys (17-2) quickly clinched the doubles point with wins on the one and three courts. The pairs of
Jonathan Brooklyn and
Danilo Casanova, and
Carter Lam and
Marcel Chan both lost 8-1 at the one and three, respectively.
Chas Okamoto won the lone point for the Rainbow Warriors (1-8) in two singles after the match had been decided. Okamoto won in straight sets against Sebastian Sachs winning set one in a tiebreak before completing the 7-6 (2), 6-2 sweep.
Carter Lam rallied at the six but fell 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to Nicolai Ferrigno.
UH returns to action Tuesday against San Francisco. First serve at the UH Tennis Complex is set for 1:00 p.m.
