‘Bows Return Home, Renew Rivalry With Nevada

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team will host former Western Athletic Conference foe Nevada for four games at Les Murakami Stadium. The 'Bows and Wolf Pack will play Friday, Mar. 14 (6:35 p.m.), Saturday, Mar. 15 (6:35 p.m.), Sunday, Mar. 16 (1:05 p.m.), and Monday, Mar. 17 (6:35 p.m.).
 
UH is coming off its first road trip of the season. The 'Bows dropped three of four games at then-No. 10 Texas with two of the losses by just one run. Scott Squier improved to 2-0 with an impressive win in game two which Hawai'i won 6-1. He tossed a seven-inning complete game, allowing just one run on two hits.
 
Jordan Richartz paced the 'Bows at the plate, leading both teams with a .462 (6-13) batting average to go along with three RBI. He is currently second on the team with a .308 average behind Juliene Jones who is hitting. 320.
 
Matt Cooper (2-1) opened the series with a solid outing, tossing seven and one third innings and nearly guiding the 'Bows to victory. He was tagged with the one-run loss, giving up three earned runs and ending his streak at 24 innings to start the season without allowing an earned run.

First pitch of Friday's series opener is set for 6:35 p.m.

The installation of the new LED scoreboard in Les Murakami Stadium is planned for the last two weeks in April, when the University of Hawai`i baseball team has games scheduled on the road.
 
After hosting Cal Poly, April 11-13, UH does not have another home series until May 2-4, when it hosts New York Institute of Technology.

There will be a $1 processing fee for all online transactions. UH Athletics is offering a "Fast Lane" option for fans purchasing baseball tickets at Les Murakami Stadium on game day. Window 7 is designated as the "Fast Lane" window, where cash-only, best-available, upper-level seats are sold. Fans are not able to "shop for seats" and they are sold the best upper-level seat locations remaining at the time of their purchase.
Promotions:The California Hotel & Casino is the sponsor of Friday's and Saturday's games and will award a Vacations Hawaii trip to Las Vegas. Fans can register to win at the sports marketing table located inside the main entrance. Friday's game will be followed by an autograph session on the field. Fantastic Sams Hair Salons is the sponsor of Sunday's and Monday's contests and will distribute 250 megaphones each day and award shampoo and conditioner gift sets to "Lucky Seat" winners. Also, season-ticket holders in all UH sports and members of the military receive 50% off adult tickets to the game on Monday.
