HONOLULU – Jordan Richartz's two-run double kick started a five-run fourth inning to lift the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team to a 6-1 win over Pepperdine on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

The 'Bows (6-5) got five of their six runs and six of their nine hits in the fourth inning, and all with two outs. Scott Kuzminsky (1-1) gave up five hits and a run through four innings, but settled down to retire the next seven hitters and eight of his final nine to earn his first career win. He was lifted after seven innings for Andrew Jones who had three strikeouts in two scoreless innings of work.

Wave starter Jackson McClelland (2-1) pitched to the minimum through three innings but did not make it out of the fourth. He allowed five runs on six hits before being lifted for Chandler Blanchard who finally got Pepperdine (7-3) out of the inning.

Richartz led the 'Bows with two hits, two runs, and two RBI with Trevor Podratz adding two hits, one run, and one RBI. Austin Wobrock batted 2-3 with one RBI.

Hutton Moyer, who doubled and scored Pepperdine's lone third-inning run, led the Waves with two hits and a run scored. Kuzminsky had a runner in scoring position in each of the first three innings, before Bryan Langlois (1 H, 1 R) singled home Moyer for the game's first run.

UH and Pepperdine play their series finale on Saturday night at 6:05 p.m.
