Series Notes
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team will look to rebound after five straight loses when it visits Cal Poly for three games this weekend. The 'Bows will face the Mustangs, ranked No. 20 in this week's Colligiate Baseball poll, for three Big West Conference games on Friday, Apr. 13 (6:00 p.m. PT), Saturday, Apr. 14 (6:00 p.m. PT), and Sunday, Apr. 15 (1:00 p.m. PT).
UH lost 5-1 on Tuesday at No. 17 UCLA in a single game between its two conference series. Scott Squier had a fanstastic outing, working seven complete innings allowing two earned runs on three hits with seven strikeouts.
The 'Bows had won six of nine games before suffering a three-game sweep at the hands of UC Irvine this past weekend top open the trip. It was an unsuccessful conference road-opening series, as UH managed just two runs on 10 hits over the three games and fell to 2-4 in the Big West.
Senior pitcher Connor Little suffered the loss in the UCI series opener, but equaled a career-high eight innings pitched and tossed his first complete game. Corey MacDonald pitched well in the game two loss, at one point retiring eight straight Anteater hitters.
The Rainbows are 6-7 all-time versus Cal Poly.
