After a rough early start to the season, the University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team heads to Las Vegas and the Rebel Classic hosted by the University of Nevada-Las Vegas at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The tournament runs from Feb. 28-Mar. 3. 

UH opens the Classic against Loyola Marymount on Thursday (4:05 p.m. PT, 2:05 p.m. HT), plays Bradley on Friday (2:05 p.m. PT, 12:05 p.m. HT), LMU again on Saturday (2:05 p.m. PT, 12:05 p.m. HT), and the host Rebels on Monday (6:05 p.m. PT, 4:05 p.m. HT). UH will also play UNLV in a single non-conference game on Tuesday, Mar. 4 (6:05 PT, 4:05 HT) before returning home.

The 'Bows will be playing in their first regular season tournament since 2009 when they participated in the Dairy Queen Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota.

UH (0-8) is off to its worst start in program history with each of its losses coming at the hands of two Top 10 opponents in then-No. 6 Oregon and then-No. 10 Rice. Hawai'i nearly pull off a victory in game three of the Rice series. The 'Bows held a one-run lead in the ninth inning and were one strike away from the win, but Rice rallied with three runs in the inning to keep UH winless.

The young season has seen several strong performances by the Rainbow pitching staff. Scott Squier, in his new role as UH's ace, has a 1.54 ERA in two starts. Versus Rice, he tossed seven complete scoreless innings and posted a career-high nine strikeouts. Matt Cooper has been the highlight of the UH bullpen. He has yet to allow a run in two outings, tossing a total of 10 and two-thirds innings with 11 strikeouts.

All games of the road trip will be broadcasted live on ESPN AM 1420 with Don Robbs and Scott Robbs calling the action.
