The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team continues its weeklong road trip with a pair of Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches at No. 1 UC Irvine, Monday, Feb. 18 and Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the Bren Center in Irvine, Calif.
The Warriors (5-8, 4-6 MPSF) moved up two spots to No. 11 in this week's poll after splitting a pair of matches at UCLA. UH dropped the opener in the series in straight sets before rebounding with a thrilling come-from-behind five-set win on Saturday.
Hawai'i has made a habit of playing five setters with eight in 13 matches through the first half of the season. The Warriors are 4-4 in five-set matches this season and is one shy of tying the school record of nine during the rally-scoring era.
UC Irvine (12-3, 9-3) won both of its matches last week, defeating UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego, to extend its win streak to eight matches. Since suffering a three-match losing streak last month, the Anteaters have won six of eight on the road.
