HONOLULU –
Lauren Hall won both diving events, but it wasn't enough as the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine swimming and diving teams lost to Kansas, 162-138, on Friday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. The meet was the season finale for Hawai'i.
Hall took top honors in the platform and one-meter dives with teammate
Aimee Harrison finishing right behind her in both events.
Genevieve Bradley finished third in the one-meter and fourth in the platform.
The 'Bows were without backstroke swimmer
Rachel Cote, but
Sofija Djelic led the way with first-place finishes in both the 100 Fly (56.33) and 200 Fly (2:03.00).
Jasmine Alkhaldi had several solid finishes of her own. She won the 50 Free (25.53) and finished second in the 100 Free (51.19), and along with
Sofia Mustelin,
Morgan Mark, and
Katie Stover, took top honors in the 200 Free relay. Stover edged Alkhaldi by one one-hundredths of a point to win the 100 Free (51.18).
Alina Vats and Bryce Hinde led the Jayhawks with wins in the 100 Back (56.79) and 100 Breast (1:03.89), respectively, and teamed up to win the 200 Medley relay.
The 'Bows now have over a month off before heading to Long Beach, Calif. for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimming Championships which begin Wednesday, Feb. 20.
