SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The No. 14 University of Hawai`i women's water polo dropped its fourth straight conference loss, 8-4 to No. 8 San Diego State Thursday afternoon at the Aztec Aquaplex.
With the victory, SDSU moved to 12-6, 1-3 in league play, while Hawai`i dropped to 4-8, 0-4 in league play.
The Rainbow Wahine trailed 3-1 to start after the first quarter, but matched the Aztec's 2-2 in the second, going into halftime still trailing by two goals, 5-3.
UH remained silent in third quarter, setting them back four points as the Aztecs scored two unmatched goals to end the third with a 7-3 lead. SDSU added one more goal to their run in the fourth, and although
Emily Carr was able to put in the last goal of the night, it wasn't enough for UH to come back.
Carr lead the Rainbow Wahine with two goals, while San Diego State's Leanne Ford recorded a hat trick for the Aztecs.
Action continues tomorrow at the Aztec Aquaplex in the Aztec Invitational. The Rainbow Wahine face Indiana at 4:00 p.m. PT.
