Men’s Volleyball Returns To MPSF Action With Matches At USC & Stanford

Match Notes

The 13th-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team returns to Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action with a grueling road trip that consists of four matches over six days against two of the top teams in the conference.

The Warriors (6-9, 3-7 MPSF) open the week-long road trip at No. 4 USC, Friday, March 2 and Sunday, March 4 at the Galen Center. Friday's match begins at 7:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. HT) while first serve for Sunday's match is slated for a 1:00 p.m. PT (11:00 a.m. HT). UH will then travel north to begin a two-match series at No. 2 Stanford, Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 7 at Burnham Pavilion. Start time for both matches is 7:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. HT).

After dropping four straight matches against No. 2 UC Irvine and No. 1 UCLA, Hawai'i took a break from league action with a two-match exhibition series with Nittaidai of Japan last week at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Warriors were able to insert seldom-used players and tinker with line-up combinations while winning both matches against the Japanese university.

The upcoming road trip is UH's third of the season and most difficult. The Warriors are 2-2 on the road this season after being swept in a two-match series at Pepperdine and winning two matches at Pacific.
