HONOLULU—The University of Hawai`i softball team (5-0) swept today's doubleheader and went undefeated to capture the 2012 Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic with wins over Seattle and DePaul on Saturday. Hawai`i scored 30 runs on the day and outscored its opponents, 46-5 in the three-day tourney at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine jumped out to a quick start against Seattle and never let up. UH batted around and posted 10 runs in the first inning.
Kelly Majam traded places with
Kayla Wartner on back-to-back doubles to start the offensive onslaught. The inning featured seven singles and three doubles. But the 'Bows also capitalized on two runs scored on bases loaded walks that was followed by a bases clearing double that netted two runs and raised UH's lead to 10-0. Seattle starter Jessica Ulrich lasted just 10 batters and was able to get two outs. Mandie Sugita then came in to eventually get the third out on a fly-out to right.
Hawai`i added another four runs in the second inning, once again stringing tother multiple singles.
Dara Pagaduan and Iwata both had run producing singles and Wartner was walked for a second time with the bases loaded to drive in another run.
The 'Bows went scoreless in the third, but bounced right back, scoring seven more runs in the fourth frame, highlighted by back-to-back home runs by
Sharla Kliebenstein and Leisha Li`ili`i. Kliebenstein's bomb was a three-run shot to leftfield , while Li`ili`I stroke her second homer of the year to the opposite field.
Hawai`i's
Kaia Parnaby (2-0) tossed her first shut out of the season. She spaced three hits with eight strike outs.
For the Redhawks, Ulrich threw a total of 1.2 innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits with two walks and two strike outs. Sugita threw 2.1 innings, giving up 13 runs on 13 hits with three strike outs and five walks.

The 'Bows came out red-hot for the second straight game, batting around and scoring six runs in the opening frame. Majam led off by ripping a linedrive straight to the first basekman, but she dropped the ball for an error. Wartner pushed her to second on a ground out to second and Robinson came through with an RBI single to left to allow Majam to score from second. Iwata followed with a single up the middle. Robinson later scored on a wild pitch. Iwata and Aguirre (who walked) then executed a double steal to score Iwata from third. On the play, the second baseman bobbled the cut throw tried to throw back to second, but her throw bounced into centerfield allowing Aguirre to hustle to third. After a strike out, Li`ili`i walked and Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu then drove in Aguirre with a single.
Dara Pagaduan capped the scoring in the first inning with a double to the left-center gap that brought home both Li`ili`i and Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu to push UH's lead to 6-0.
In the second inning, Iwata launched a two-run opposite field home run to right centerfield to drive in Robinson who had walked to give UH an 8-0 lead.
The score remained 8-0 until the top of the fifth inning when Allie Braden drilled a two-run homer to left-centerfield, cutting their deficit to 8-2.
Hawai`i got one run back in the bottom of the inning on Pagaduan's second RBI double of the night that drove in pinch runner
Jazmine Zamora from second base to increase their lead to 9-2. Then in the sixth, Li`ili`i hit a single up the middle. On the play Aguirre came racing around third to try to end the game by the eight-run rule, but a solid throw from the centerfielder cut her down on a very close play at the plate.
Ricketts (3-0) earned her third complete game win of the season. She gave up two runs and gave up four hits with four walks and nine strike outs.
DePaul's Kirsten Verdun tossed the first two innings, giving up eight runs on six hits with four walks and two strike outs. Hanna Penna finished the game, throwing the final four innings. She kept the UH bats at bay, holding them to just one run on three hits with two walks and six K's.
Hawai`i now has one day off before facing UMKC (2-3) in a single game on Monday night at 6:00 p.m.
