The 'Bows defeated Chaminade, 11-1 and Kumamoto International College, 15-5. Kaia Parnaby had 14 strike outs in five innings of work against the Silverswords to earn the victory, while rookie pitcher Keiki Carlos earned the complete-game win against the Bulldogs. Parnaby faced just 20 batters in her five innings of work. She struck out the side in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings. Chaminade was able to put the ball in play just three times against the Aussie southpaw. Parnaby gave up her first hit and run of the tournament in the fourth inning. Parnaby struck out 25 of the 34 batters she faced in nine innings of work in her two appearances in the tournament. Fellow lefty pitcher, freshman Loie Kesterson finished the game, throwing the final two innings in relief. She gave up two hits but did not allow a run and had two K's in her first appearance in the circle for the green and white.

UH got on the scoreboard first on a sacrifice fly to right field that allowed Kelly Majam (who was hit by a pitch to start the inning) to score from third. UH added three runs in the second inning on Majam's three-run bomb that sailed over the right-centerfield fence.

UH tacked on three more runs in the third, highlighted by an RBI-fielder's choice by Brynne Buchanan and two-run double to the left-center gap by Majam that scored Kaile Nakao and Buchanan.

In the fourth Chaminade broke up Parnaby's bid for a no-hitter and a shut out when Rayna Strom-Okimoto stroked a double to the rightfield fence that pushed Kori Berinobis to third. Berinobis then scored when the incoming throw from right sailed over the cut-off and bounced off the fence that allowed her to score on the throwing error.

The 'Bows responded in the bottom of the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run to left-centerfield by freshman Kristina Akiona and later a two-run homer launched to left by Carlos. UH closed their scoring with an RBI single by rookie Alyssa Villalpando.

Chaminade's Kaitlyn Watanabe took the loss, throwing five innings. She gave up 10 runs on 11 hits with two walks and no strike outs. Brett Aspel threw the final inning, giving up one run on two hits with a strike out.

Carlos earned a complete-game (seven innings) win in her first start as a Rainbow Wahine. She was touched for five runs—four of which were unearned—on five hits with two walks and nine strike outs. At the plate, Carlos helped herself out, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, a double and run scored

It was the first start for six UH players—five of which were freshman [Carlos (pitcher), Alyssa Villalpando (first base), Kiani Wong (second base), Kesterson (leftfield) and redshirt Austin Wilkerson (third base).

The 'Bows scored in every inning, beginning with three runs in the first inning. Majam led off with a sharp single to right and after two pop-up outs, Villalpando moved her to third on a opposite-field single to right. Kliebenstein then laced an RBI-single to left-centerfield and later Tara Anguiano drilled a two-RBI single to left to give UH the early 3-0 lead.

UH added four more runs in the second on a sacrifice fly by Villalpando that scored Jordan Burton, who had singled to start the frame. Kleibenstein then kept things going with an RBI-double to left and Wong followed by driving in two runs with a single.

Kumamoto posted three runs in the third, taking advantage of two walks and a beaned batter that loaded the bases with one out. A pair of RBI singles by Ayaka Ino and Miki Katayama and an error allowed for the three runs.

Kliebenstein's hot-hitting continued in the fourth inning, when she started a rally with a home run to right-centerfield. Jazmine Zamora followed with a single through the leftside of the infield and Nakao then launched her first home run as a Rainbow Wahine over the left-centerfield fence to make the score 11-5.

Kumamoto got two more unearned runs in the fifth, capitalizing on two early errors that allowed a run to score on a errant throw on a bunt and a sacrifice fly to left, cutting UH's lead to 11-5.

With one out in the fifth, Carlos stroked a double to right-center and was brought home by a home run high over the leftfield fence by junior first baseman Jori Jasper to give UH a 13-5 lead.

In the sixth, Zamora hustled for a double with a head-first slide to start the inning. Later, with one out, Akiona capped UH's scoring with her second homer of the day with a two-run bomb over the leftfield fence.

Kumamoto's Erika Nishi threw a complete game in the defeat. She gave up 15 runs on 21 hits with one walk and one strike out.
