MESA, Ariz. – The University of Hawai'i baseball team enters the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Rainbows have a first-round bye in the double-elimination tournament, and will play this Thursday, May 26, at 7:00 p.m. MST (4:00 p.m. HST) against the lowest advancing seed.
The Rainbows (32-23, 17-7) were named WAC co-regular season champions along with Fresno State. Hawai'i earned the No. 1 seed over the Bulldogs based on a tie-breaker determined by the WAC.
UH clinched a share of the regular season title, its first since 1992, on the heels of a 24-3 win at New Mexico State on Saturday.
Hawai'i is 39-28 all-time in WAC Tournament play, and have won seven tournament titles.
