Rainbow Baseball Starts Long Road Trip At No. 13 Fresno State

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i baseball team starts its longest road trip of the season, playing eight WAC games in nine days. The Rainbows open with a four-game series at No. 13 Fresno State (Apr. 29-May 2) and conclude the trip with four games at Nevada (May 5-7).

The 'Bows enter the Fresno State series mere percentage points ahead of the Bulldogs for first place in the conference. After opening the WAC season 7-1, UH took a short break from WAC play this past week, dropping two of three home games to Valparaiso.

The series against Fresno State features the top two pitching teams in the WAC. Rainbow pitchers Zach Gallagher (4-1, 2.00 ERA) and Matt Sisto (3-4, 2.48 ERA) are No. 2 and 4, respectively, in ERA in the WAC, with Bulldog hurler Greg Gonzales (7-0, 1.31 ERA) boasting the best earned run average in the conference.

After the games in Fresno, the Rainbows will conclude the trip in Reno with a four-game
set against Nevada (May 5-7).
