HONOLULU – The No. 5 University of Hawai`i (17-7, 4-3 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) women's water polo team wrapped up regular season play with a 10-7 victory over No. 11 Arizona State (11-12, 0-7 MPSF), Saturday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
The Rainbow Wahine finish in a three-way tie for third in conference standings, the highest MPSF finish in program history, UH earns a tie-breaker over USC and UCLA, gaining the third seed in the MPSF Tournament beginning April 29 in San Jose, Calif.
The match was the final home appearance for six seniors.It was the underclassmen however, who provided the offensive punch for the team. Junior

Amarens Genee scored three.
It was a tight match until UH pulled away in the third quarter. ASU kept the match close, and had a chance to cut the deficit to just one with a penalty shot early in the third. However,
Serena Bredin stuffed Mariam Salloum's attempt, one of nine saves for the senior goalkeeper. UH scored on its next possession to go up 7-4 and never looked back.
