Tournament Notes
HONOLULU—The No. 16/20 University of Hawai'i softball team (21-5) concludes their non-conference schedule with the 2011 Chevron Spring Fling Tournament, March 16-19. BYU, No. 10/9 California, Cleveland State, and Iona will all be vying for the tourney title.

Jessica Iwata earned Most Valuable Player honors and pitcher
Stephanie Ricketts was voted Most Outstanding Pitcher. Iwata hit .417 in the tournament (5-for-12) with a team high five runs scored, a triple and a home run. Ricketts went 2-1 and gave up just two runs on two hits in 19.0 innings pitched with 11 walks and 18 strike outs. She fired her fourth career no-hitter against South Dakota State in a five-inning, 9-0 win.
Overall, the 'Bows are hitting .280, with six players hitting .300 or above. Senior utility player
Jenna Rodriguez leads UH with a .363 average (29-for-80) with three doubles, two home runs and 19 RBI. Rodriguez, who has seen time as a pitcher, rightfielder and designated player this season, is one of six players to have started all 26 games. Junior first baseman
Sarah Robinson is second on the team going 21-for-62 for a .339 average with 10 runs scored, two doubles, a triple and a home run under her belt in her first year as a starter. Right behind Robinson, is Iwata who is hitting .338 (27-for-80). Iwata has scored a team-high 28 runs while hitting team-best 10 home runs. She leads UH with a .763 slugging percentage.
In the circle, Ricketts has seen the bulk of the action, throwing 108.0 innings this season. She is 12-4 overall and has tallied a 1.56 ERA with 25 walks to 120 strike outs. Ricketts has fired 15 complete games in 18 starts with six shut-outs. Sophomore southpaw,
Kaia Parnaby is 8-1 this year with a 1.23 ERA and two shut outs. She has tossed 57.0 innings while walking 13 and fanning 70 opposing hitters.
