Water Polo Defeats No. 17 Indiana At Aztec Invitational

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 4 University of Hawai`i women's water polo team kicked off the Aztec Invitational, hosted by San Diego State University with a victory over No. 17 Indiana, at the Aztec Aquatic Complex this evening.

Despite trailing behind the Hoosiers 2-0 in the first quarter, the Rainbow Wahine came back in the second, tying the score 2-2.  After a silent third quarter, UH muscled in a goal in the final period, and held on for a 3-2 victory over the Hoosiers.

Freshman Kelly McKee lead the Rainbow Wahine with two goals, while sophomore Amarens Genee added one.

The Rainbow Wahine continue the Aztec Invitational tomorrow, Mar. 12 at the Aztec Aquatics Complex as they face No. 16 Cal State Northridge at 12:00 p.m. PT and Wagner at 3:45 p.m. PT.
