Rainbow Baseball Shutout By Ducks, 4-0

Box score

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i lost for the first time this season, dropping a 4-0 decision to Oregon. UH drops to 2-1 while the Ducks improve to 1-2. Madison Boer (1-0) pitched a gem to earn the win for the Ducks, allowing no runs on one hit in eight innings of work. Alex Capaul (0-1) received the loss for the Rainbows, pitching six innings while surrendering two earned runs on six hits.

Oregon got on the board early with runs in the second and third innings. RBI base hits by Tyler Kuresa (1 H, 1 R) and Jack Marder (2 H, 2 RBI), and a sacrifice fly by Paul Eshleman (0-3, 1 RBI) helped the Ducks to an early 3-0 lead.

Kolten Wong recorded Hawai'i's lone hit of the afternoon, driving a base hit through the right side of the infield.

Capaul struggled early, but pitched a strong fifth and sixth inning to keep the 'Bows in the game. He was relieved by Brent Harrison who allowed one run on three hits in three innings of work.

The 'Bows and Ducks conclude their series tomorrow. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
