SAN JOSE, Calif.—The University of Hawai`i women's basketball team's road woes continue as they fell at San Jose State, 43-53, at The Event Center on Saturday night.

Shawna-Lei Kuehu led UH with 11 points a piece while
Kamilah Jackson snagged a game-high 13 rebounds.
San Jose State (2-16, 2-3 WAC) led the entire game from start to finish, holding the 'Bows to a season-low 11 points in the first half on just 4-of-27 shooting for 14.8% from the floor. In the second half, the Rainbow Wahine (6-12, 0-5 WAC) improved, scoring 32 points by hitting 9-of-19 from the floor for a 47.4 field goal percentage. For the fourth straight game, the 'Bows out-rebounded their opponent (38-35) only to lose the game.
Hawai`i was able to get as close as seven points with 2:39 left in the game, but the Spartans were able to hit their last 10-of-11 shots from the foul line to pull away down the stretch.
Arbuckle was 3-of-4 in field goals and 5-of-9 from the free throw line with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal. Kuehu went 4-of-13 and 3-of-3 form the charity stripe. She chipped in with four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Jackson tallied nine points, and ended the game just one point shy of posting her 10th double-double of the season. She secured three offensive and 10 defensive boards in the game.
Megan Tinnin also scored nine points on three, 3-point shots made. She added a season-high seven rebounds with an assist, two steals and Tinnin tied her career-high with two blocked shots.
San Jose State was led by forward AJ Newton, who scored a game-high 15 points while Sara Plavljanin added 11 points.
The loss was UH's sixth in a row and it was the 'Bows' 15th-straight road conference loss dating back to a win at Utah State on Jan. 30, 2009.
Hawai`i will now head to Fresno, Calif. to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs on Monday, Jan. 24 at 6:00 p.m.
