Meet Results

SEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team had an impressive start to the 2011 indoor season by posting 13 all-time school Top 10 performances at the University of Washington Indoor Preview, Saturday, at Demsey Indoor.

“It was a pretty good day to kick-off our new season,” said UH head coach Carmyn James, whose team featured athletes who had not competed in an indoor facility before.

In the high jump competition, Sarah Saddleton won the event with a jump of 5-8 (1.73m). Teammates Samantha Balentine and Kaleigh Morrison finished in a tie for fourth at 5-4.25 (1.63m).

A pair of Rainbow Wahine placed in the top six in the weight throw event. Anika Borden, a senior from Pearl City, O'ahu, was fourth with a throw of 51-8.25 (15.75m) while Emma MacCorquodale was sixth at 51-1 (15.57m).

On the oval, senior Ashley Aitken knocked 11 seconds off of her personal best in the mile with a time of 5:03.30, which also ranked among the school's Top 10. Kevyn Murphy completed her first indoor 3000-meters with a mark of 10:28.87.

Freshman Ashley Satterwhite posted a pair of Top 10 school performances in the 60-meters (8.08) and 200-meters (26.47), in her first career indoor competition.

The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Sunset Meet #1, Saturday, at the Clarence T.C. Ching Field.
