Game Notes
HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (4-4) travels to Hilo, Hawai'i this weekend to host No. 10 UCLA and East Carolina in the 2010 Chevron Rainbow Wahine Shootout, Dec. 19-21. All three games will be played at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
The Rainbow Wahine started the season with a 4-2 record through their first two tournaments at home. Last week, UH dropped their first two road games of the season at Portland State and Portland, to even their record at 4-4.
Hawai'i last played in Hilo two years ago, hosting the Bank of Hawaii Invitational to open the 2008-09 season with Loyola Marymount, Toledo, and Arizona.
Leading the 'Bows this season is true freshman forward,
Kamilah Jackson, who continues her strong rookie campaign. She has racked up double-doubles (in points and rebounds) in five straight games leading up to this week. Currently, Jackson leads UH with 87 rebounds (42 offensive and 45 defensive) and 99 points overall and is averaging team-highs in rebounds (10.9), points (12.4) in just 26.1 minutes per game. Jackson, who started the season as a reserve player, was inserted into the starting line-up at Portland State, and she responded by posting a career-high 22 points with 10 rebounds and followed that performance with a monster game at Portland with 18 points and a career-best 18 rebounds. Jackson leads the WAC in rebounds and rebounds per game and is the lone freshman in the WAC's top 20 in scoring at No. 11.
Senior guard,
Keisha Kanekoa will be making a trip home this week to the Big Island where she was born and raised. The Honoka'a High School graduate is averaging 11.4 points per game while dishing out a team-high 28 assists. Kanekoa has started all eight games this season and leads the squad with a .750 free-throw percentage (15-for-20). She also had grabbed 34 rebounds and made 13 steals this season.
Senior guard
Megan Tinnin has returned from a redshirt season last year and has found her shooting stroke again. She has already sunk 19 3-pointers and is now Hawai'i's career and single-season record holder for 3-point shots made. Tinnin has also been solid on defense, leading UH with 14 steals. She is averaging 8.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Breanna Arbuckle, a junior forward, has been very active in the paint. She is shooting a field-goal percentage of .500 (30-for-60) and is third on the team averaging 11.1 points per game. Arbuckle has also grabbed 46 rebounds and has blocked a team-high 12 shots this season. She is eighth all-time in the UH record books for career blocked shots with 75.

-On Tuesday they will be tossing Chevron “stress balls' into the stands.
-Fans can register for the promotional activities by signing up at the UH sports marketing table at the main entrance before the game.
-Also, fans are encouraged to stay after the game for an autograph session with the UH players and coaches.
