The Rainbow Wahine basketball team (4-2) heads to Portland, Ore. for their first roadtrip of the season. The 'Bows will face Portland State on Thursday night, Dec. 2 at 7:00 pm and then take on the Portland Pilots on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7:00 pm.
The Rainbow Wahine are 4-2 coming into this week after going 2-1 in both of its opening tournaments. Last week, the 'Bows advanced to the championship game of the 8-team Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown, with wins over North Carolina Central (82-47) and a double-overtime thriller over Mississippi (64-57). Hawai`i, however, fell to No. 14 North Carolina in the title game, 57-91.
The Rainbow Wahine have had a balanced attack on offense, led by senior guard
Keisha Kanekoa who leads the 'Bows with a 12.2 points per game average. This past week, she scored a career-high 25 points against Mississippi. In the game, Kanekoa also tied a UH single-game record as she hit six 3-pointers in the game. Junior forward
Breanna Arbuckle has been solid in the paint for the 'Bows with a .488 field-goal percentage (21-of-43) and has averaged 10.8 points per game. She also has a team-high nine blocks. Rookie forward,
Kamilah Jackson has made an immediate impact, grabbing a team-high 59 rebounds (9.8 per game) and has scored 9.8 points per game. Jackson has recorded double-doubles in the last three straight games.

Head coach Sherri Murrell brings her Vikings into this week with a 5-2 record. Senior forward Kelli Valentine leads PSU averaging 12.0 points per game. Right behind her is Courtney Vanbrocklin who has 11.6 points per game and leads the Vikings with 32 rebounds (6.4 per game). She also has a team-high seven blocks. Eryn Jones has dished out a team-best 22 assists and has hit a team-high eight 3-point shots.
Last week, the Vikings played two games in the Colliers International Classic at California. The Vikings opened with a 83-76 victory over Tulane, before losing to the Golden Bears 49-82 in the championship game. Kelli Valentine scored 24 points against Tulane and a Courtney VanBrocklin recorded a double-double (19 points, 12 rebounds).

The Portland Pilots are 5-2 and are led by junior guard/forward, Natalie Day with 16.4 points per game. She also has a team-high 19 steals and 47 rebounds. Nakeisha Brown, a junior guard/forward, is second on the team with 13.3 points per game and has hit a team-high 14 treys with a .405 %. ReZina TecleMariam, junior guard has been an assist machine, doling out 38 in three games. She has 10.9 points per game.
The Pilots split their two games last week at the Husky Classic at Houston Baptist. The Pilots fell to Lamar 66-76 to open the tourney then bounced back for a 80-59 win over the host Huskies.
