Toshiba Classic Day 1 Results

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming teams completed the first day of the Toshiba Classic, hosted by UC San Diego in Long Beach, Calif. Thursday night, following 10 final events.

 

Team scoring for the Toshiba Classic will begin following Friday's events.

 

In a highly competitive meet, the men's team had two second place relay finishes. In the 200 freestyle relay, the team of Ilia Reyes, Davis Kane, Sean Reilly and Mark Higley finished second with a time of 1:20.39.

 

In the men's 400 medley relay, the team of Lazar Bogdanovski, Patrick Kirkland, Luca Mazzurana and Mark Higley finished second with a time of 3:21.12. Kane also had a fourth place finish in the 50 free with a time of 20.61. James Clarke had a fourth place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:28.55.

 

The Rainbow Wahine team of Mary Brown, Annathea Accornerro, Karli Rice and Maura Barrett finished sixth in the 200 freesytle relay. Barrett also finished eighth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.73.

 

The second day of the three-day Toshiba Classic continues on Friday in Long Beach, Calif.
