RUSTON, La. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (21-23, 13-10 WAC) fell to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (17-24, 3-18) 14-4 in seven innings due to the conference's 10-run rule in the second game of the doubleheader at J.C. Love Field Saturday.

The Bulldogs reversed the script on the 'Bows, posting two runs in the first inning, aided by a couple of untimely errors by UH, going ahead 2-0.
But Hawai`i came back in the top of the fifth with a four-run inning. Landon Hernandez got it started by driving in Catricala. Haislet then hit a two-run double before scoring on a single by Hee, giving the Rainbows a 4-2 edge.
But Louisiana Tech took the lead right back via the long ball. For the second-straight game, the Bulldogs hit back-to-back-to-back home runs, starting with a three-run shot by Jericho Jones. In all, LTU scored five runs in the inning, taking a 7-4 lead after five innings.
The Bulldogs weren't done yet though. Chris Kersten hit his second home run of the game, a grand slam to straight-away centerfield in the bottom of the seventh. LTU would then add three more runs in the inning to end the game 14-4.
The two teams will finish their series with a game at 1:00 p.m. (8 a.m. HST).
