RENO, Nev. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (31-22, 9-12 WAC) fell to the Nevada Wolf Pack (31-22, 14-7) 7-2 at Peccole Park Monday.
Mark Rodrigues (8-3) took the loss, allowing four runs in 6.1 innings pitched. Kyle Howe (3-3) got the win for the Pack
Jonathan Hee went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a two runs. Derek DuPree added a 1-for-4 game with one RBI and a double while Kris Sanchez also went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a double.
Hawai`i got on the board in the first inning as DuPree drove in Hee. UH then added another run when Sanchez drove in Hee in the third, putting Hawai`i ahead 2-0.
That was how it stayed for five innings, until the Wolf Pack put up two runs in the bottom of the sixth, tying the score at 2-2. Nevada then took the lead in the seventh, putting together a five-run inning to get it to 7-2, which is the way it ended.
UH will return to the islands for their final three regular-season games, from May 26-28 at the Les Murakami Stadium vs. Fresno State.
