STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (24-13) dropped a 4-3 game to the Pacific Tigers (9-25-1) in front of a crowd of 511 at Klein Family Field Tuesday.
Jayson Kramer (3-1) allowed two runs in 1.0 innings to get the loss while Casey Neimeyer (1-0) got the win for the Tigers.
Justin Frash led the way for UH, going 3-for-4 with one RBI, one run and a double. Kris Sanchez added a 1-for-4 game with one RBI while Jonathan Hee went 2-for-5 with a run.
UH got on the scoreboard early, posting two runs in the first inning. Sanchez started it off by singling in Hee before Frash came in on a UOP error, making it 2-0.
The Tigers came back to tie it at 2-2 in the bottom of the third. But UH had the answer, scoring on a RBI-double by Frash, putting the Rainbows back ahead 3-2.
That was how it stayed until the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Tigers put up two runs to take their first lead of the game at 4-3. UH wasn't able to do anything in the top of the ninth, giving Pacific the victory.
The 'Bows will now head down to Fresno, Calif., for a critical WAC series with the Fresno State Bulldogs from April 13-15.
