'Bows Drop 7-5 Game At Nevada

RENO, Nev. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (15-19, 3-7 WAC) fell to the Nevada Wolf Pack (16-11, 5-2) 7-5 in front of a crowd of 760 at Peccole Park Friday. Stephen Bryant (4-3) took the loss while Tim Schoeninger (4-4) got the complete-game victory.

Adam Roberts had a big game, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one home run. Daniel Magana went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run while Gregory Kish added a 2-for-4 game. Joseph Spiers also had a 2-for-5 game.

Nevada jumped out with a five-run second inning, four run of which were unearned.

The 'Bows came back with two runs in fourth as Magana and Roberts both drove in a run apiece, cutting it to 5-2. But the Wolf Pack scored a run in the fourth and another in the fifth, pushing their edge back to 7-2.

The Rainbows made a run in the ninth as Roberts hit a three-run homer to cut it to 7-5. But that was all they would get as Schoeninger finished with a complete game victory for the Pack.

The two teams will play again tomorrow at Peccole Park at 1:00 p.m.
